However he himself did not have enough strength and had to ask for help from a Mediator who would speak up for him and would carry his prayers to the Higher Power. Pilgrimage is therefore a physical and a spiritual journey undertaken for this purpose in two parallels – an internal, horizontal, physical journey “with both feet on the ground” and simultaneously an internal, vertical, non-physical, invisible journey inside our mind, in which we are trying to create and capture our ideal picture of happiness and success.
